Tara Ferris joins OECD

Tara Ferris, a key figure in the development of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act in the US, has joined the OECD as a consultant in Washington.

Ferris, formerly senior counsel in the Office of Chief Counsel (International) at the Internal Revenue Service, will be part of the international cooperation and tax administration division, run by Achim Pross, in the Organisation's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration.

She said on her profile on LinkedIn that she will "provide technical advice on the implementation of the Common Reporting Standard (CRS), including the exploitation of synergies between CRS and FATCA, and the standard for automatic exchange of financial information on tax matters".
