Salman Shaheen discusses tax and philanthropy on TalkRADIO

ITR and TalkRADIO

Salman Shaheen, managing editor of International Tax Review, speaks to TalkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer about whether the taxes paid by big multinationals matter when their founders are donating vast sums to charity.

Last week, Bill Gates donated $4.6 billion to charity in his largest act of philanthropy since 2000. But the act has focused attention on the taxes Microsoft pays, not least because developing countries lose more to tax avoidance than they receive in aid. Should giving be voluntary? Do philanthropists know better than governments?

Salman Shaheen joined Julia Hartley-Brewer to discuss the issue on TalkRADIO. Listen here.
