Karishma Phatarphekar

Karishma is a partner in the tax practice of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP and leads the tax controversy management team, which comprises litigators in the areas of transfer pricing, corporate and international tax, and indirect tax. Before joining Deloitte, she led the transfer pricing and dispute management practices of renowned accounting and tax firms for 12 years. Karishma has extensive experience in dispute management and resolution. She has advised clients in the life sciences, technology, and financial services industries.

Karishma has recently been listed by Euromoney as an expert in tax litigation. She also featured in the list of the top ten transfer pricing advisers in India and was nominated among the Tax Controversy Leaders and Women Tax Leaders by ITR.

Karishma has successfully argued high-stakes matters involving complex transfer pricing issues before tribunals, which are now binding precedents in law. She is a prolific speaker on transfer pricing and tax controversy issues.
