Mariusz is a certified tax adviser who supports clients in transfer pricing issues. He has represented international clients in more than 180 advance pricing agreement (APA) proceedings, and in transfer pricing audits and mutual agreement procedures (MAPs).
In 2016–17, Mariusz acted as the deputy director of department at the Polish Ministry of Finance, responsible for transfer pricing MAP and APA negotiations, transfer pricing policy, and legislation. From 2012–16, he was the deputy director of the Tax Policy Department at the Polish Ministry of Finance, responsible for tax policy, double tax treaty negotiation, and international cooperation.
Mariusz has served as the Polish delegate to many OECD and EU working groups and supervised the negotiation of more than 50 international agreements, including 36 double taxation treaties. His practical experience in fiscal audits was gained from several years spent working as a tax inspector, specialised in insurance and the banking sector.
