Nicola is an international tax and transfer pricing (TP) principal and senior economist at Deloitte, and is based out of the firm’s Chicago office. He has over 15 years of experience assisting multinational clients with their international tax and TP matters in planning, compliance, and controversy settings.
As the US TP controversy leader, Nicola assists clients and clients’ counsel throughout the tax planning life cycle, and coordinates to provide economic support services worldwide, including intangible property valuations, audit and appeals strategy and data analysis services, and expert witness testimony. He has provided litigation support to a number of clients in the US Tax Court and represented clients in numerous US and foreign tax audits, advance pricing agreements, and appeals settings.
Nicola obtained a PhD in economics from Boston College, where he taught statistics and macroeconomics. He also has extensive government and private sector work experience, including at the Federal Reserve Banks of Boston and Kansas City, and the Congressional Budget Office in Washington, DC.
