Sarah Blakelock

Partner

Sarah is a partner in Deloitte’s Tax Controversy Network with more than 20 years’ experience focusing on the prevention, management, and resolution of tax disputes. She regularly advises on the application of both domestic and treaty-based general and targeted anti-avoidance/abuse rules, the resolution of transfer pricing disputes, and complex multi-jurisdictional tax disputation and arbitration under tax treaties or investment agreements.

Sarah acts for clients who have tax disputes before the tax tribunals and higher UK courts, as well as resolving disputes through cross-border dispute resolution mechanisms, including mutual agreement procedure and arbitration. As one of only a few tax advisers with international arbitration experience, both as a panel chair arbitrator appointed under the US and Canadian tax convention and as an adviser to multinational enterprises, she is well placed to assist clients in utilising a domestic litigation strategy and/or mutual agreement procedure to achieve early tax dispute resolution and tax certainty.

Sarah is also a practising mediator (CEDR accredited) and Harvard-trained negotiator.
