Sunny Leung started her career in New York in 1997. She joined KPMG’s New York federal tax practice in 2000 and provided U.S. tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies. Sunny joined KPMG’s Shanghai tax department in 2005.
Sunny is the KPMG Asia-Pacific international tax leader and KPMG China’s national TMT sector leader. She is very experienced with common structuring and tax issues that are unique to the sector and the practical solutions. Since joining KPMG China in 2005, Sunny has been extensively involved in advising clients on setting up operations in China, M&A transactions, pre-IPO restructuring, cross-border supply chain planning, and various tax incentive applications. She has been providing Chinese tax advisory and compliance services to domestic and multi-national companies in the TMT as well as traditional manufacturing and service industries. She has also been providing tax due diligence and tax health check services in China.
Sunny assisted various tax authorities in China to perform a study on common Chinese tax issues that had emerged in the new digital economy, and the potential impact of BEPS. She has also provided various trainings to different levels of tax authorities in China on such topics.
